After spending the day at the Florida State Fair in Tampa, my fiancé and I decided to stop by Anna Maria Oyster Bar in Ellenton--and we're so glad we did! We ordered fried oysters, French fries, and cheese grits, and everything was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fried to perfection, crispy on the outside yet tender and flavorful inside. The cheese grits were just the way I like them--nice and thick--and the fries were a great complement to the meal. Even better, our food arrived quickly and fresh. Our waitress, Lilly, was fantastic, providing friendly and attentive service. We also appreciated how the rest of the staff greeted us warmly as we walked through the restaurant. It's little details like that that make a place feel extra welcoming. The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, including the bathrooms, which is always a big plus. Anna Maria Oyster Bar now has four locations, and after this experience, I'd definitely visit again. If you're in the Ellenton area and craving fresh seafood with great service, this spot is a must-try!

have driven by this place so many times, decided to stop & see what they have to offer, glad we did!!! greeted by the friendly hostess & seated up quickly. ordered a couple of margaritas. had conch fritters & a dozen raw oysters for our appetizers, both SO GOOD!!! oysters were super fresh and fat. fritters were crispy on the outside, soft & fluffy inside. we both of us ordered the same thing for lunch, the catfish platter with hush puppies, slaw & grits. all delicious, we had to take some home, such a large amount of food. we LOVED our server, LILY....super friendly, quick & efficient. decor is a bit dated, booths are a little uncomfortable as they are old and set low. if you come here for lunch get there early, the place fills up quickly. the parade of blue hairs, wheel chairs & walkers all start shuffling in around noon, we were the youngest customers in the place. we asked our server is the place typically filled with the walking dead.....she snickered and reluctantly said yes, for lunch & dinner. we thought the place was rather good & will definitely return!!!
Went Thursday for early dinner (4pm) and the place was packed . Still only a 10 min wait to be seated . They have a prime rib special on Thursday and Sundays that brings in the crowds . Our server Wendy was great , attentive and personable . Wife started with NE clam chowder which was hot and creamy with plenty of clams -very good, followed by Caesar salad which was also very good , for entree she ordered fried shrimp (12) which were medium/ large in size and were tender and perfectly fried with the best French fries . As for me I had the 12 oz prime rib -med rare. - tender, tasty and probably the best prime rib that I have had in years -, came with two sides.. red bliss potatoes and coleslaw - everything was delicious. Place is clean, well managed and reminds of the seafood places in New England . Highly recommend.
Miss Anna Maria oyster bar is really good. They have good service. The servers are personable and attentive. And the food is good. I ordered a whole lobster and it came out. Steamed with some drawn butter. That was actually very good for the price. The oysters are pretty good. They just need to clean them a little bit better. There's always some sand or shell in them. But the oysters are simply delicious. Without the sand. lol
Wanted to try a local restaurant while visiting family in Florida. Met at this place for lunch. Plenty of parking and spacious restaurant. Warmly greeted by the hostess who sat us to our table immediately. Wait staff friendly, funny, and accommodating. Food served quickly. All of the food was delicious!! From the appetizers to the main courses. Besides the freshly shucked oysters, I really loved the Oysters Rock, which was roasted with creamed spinach and bacon. Very tasty!! So happy that it was Stone Crab season. Not too pricey for regular size. Sweet and succulent!! Fish and Chips and Fish Tacos were also delicious with a nice portion of fish. Restaurant also has a great menu of cocktails. I had the Spicy Passion 'Rita. So yummy!! Definitely coming back when we visit family.
